The Death of a Poet

“The Death of a Poet”
What does ones mind say, when he closes his eyes
The breaths he took, while he was alive
The breaths he took, looking into
Gods Eyes
Resting peacefully, waiting for his last breath
A tear of emotions, grows upon this dying poets eye
Reaching for the sky, dreams become reality
Seeing all the hidden words, lying on the garden of his heart
He smiles seeing her soul dance among words resin
Trying so long, showing her the words he writes
Now waiting to die watching heavens gates open up
Like a river, flowing out to sea
He looks back into the shadows, crossroads of his life
Not wanting to leave her, wanting to explain
The gift of this poets mind, wanting to hold her
The empty space that separates them
Watching her cry, tears of sadness
His soul sees the image of what was
The home of his soul
Time stands still
His hand rests on her shoulder,
Feeling his heartbeat
Feeling a tug in her heart
